It's the Italian information centre for academic mobility and equivalence, part of the European ENIC-NARIC network. CIMEA issues the comparability and verification attestations for foreign degrees used in Italy.
Why it matters
If you studied abroad and want to use that degree for a master\'s, a job, or a visa in Italy, CIMEA is usually the official body that confirms what your diploma corresponds to here.

Common confusion
CIMEA issues attestations. It doesn\'t award Italian degrees and doesn\'t guarantee admission. The receiving university or employer always has the final say.
