Pay Slip
Plain English
Your monthly pay slip. It breaks down your gross salary, taxes (IRPEF), social contributions (INPS), other deductions, and what actually lands in your bank account (the netto). It also tracks your holidays, sick days, and TFR balance.
Why it matters
Banks, landlords, and immigration offices will all ask for the last few busta paga as proof of income. You'll also need them to file your taxes correctly and to spot any errors in deductions or contributions.
Real example
"When Aleksandra applied for a mortgage in Bologna, the bank asked for her last 3 busta paga and her latest CU (the annual income statement). Without them the application wouldn't even start."
Common confusion
Italians often quote salary as a yearly gross number across 13 or 14 monthly payments (the extra months are bonuses in summer and at Christmas), so a 26,000-euro yearly gross is usually paid as 13 slices of 2,000, not 12.
