Permanent Employment Contract
Plain English
It's a permanent employment contract with no fixed end date. It\'s the strongest form of employment in Italy and brings full CCNL protections, INPS contributions, TFR, and notice rights.
Why it matters
Banks treat it as gold for mortgages and rentals. Immigration offices often see it as proof of stable income for permit conversions, family reunification, and long-term EU residence.
Real example
"After 18 months on fixed-term, Sandile's tech contract in Bolzano converted to tempo indeterminato. His bank pre-approved a mortgage almost the next week."
Common confusion
Permanent doesn\'t mean unfireable. The employer can still end the contract for just cause or for justified reasons, subject to notice and rules in the CCNL.
