It's the visa issued to a child being adopted by Italian residents, allowing them to enter Italy after the adoption procedure abroad is recognised. It\'s closely tied to the work of CAI (Commissione per le Adozioni Internazionali).
Why it matters
Without this visa, the child can\'t join the adoptive family in Italy. The procedure is strictly regulated to protect the child\'s interest and confirm the legality of the adoption.
Common confusion
International adoption rules are tight. You need to work with an authorised agency and the CAI in addition to the consulate, not just go through a private route.
