Procedura Dublino

Dublin Procedure

It's the EU procedure that decides which member state is responsible for examining an asylum claim. Usually it\'s the first EU country the person entered or where they have family. Italy uses Dublin to send and receive cases across the EU.

If you applied for asylum somewhere else first, your claim in Italy can be sent back to that country under Dublin. The process can take months and significantly delays getting a final decision.

Dublin doesn\'t decide whether you\'re a refugee. It only decides which country must take responsibility for the asylum claim. The actual decision happens there.
