Update of Residence Permit

It's an update to your existing permesso when something on the card changes but the card itself is still valid. Examples include a new address, a change of employer, marriage, or adding a child. You file the request through the post office kit like a renewal.
Why it matters
Without keeping the info on your permit current, the Questura can flag your record. It\'s also needed for things like changing the address linked to your residence permit history.
Real example
"When Aiyana moved across the river in Cosenza, she filed an aggiornamento at the post office to update her residence address on the permesso. Same kit, same fee structure, just with the change form filled in."
Common confusion
Aggiornamento is not the same as rinnovo (renewal). Renewal happens when the card is about to expire. Aggiornamento is for changes while the card is still valid.
