Italian Revenue Agency
Plain English
It's Italy\'s Revenue Agency, the body that runs the tax system. You\'ll go to them to get a codice fiscale, register a lease, file taxes, open a partita IVA, and dozens of other paperwork tasks. A lot of what they do is now online through SPID or CIE.
Why it matters
Almost every formal step you take in Italy eventually touches the Agenzia delle Entrate. Their online portal is the main place where your fiscal life with the Italian state happens.
Real example
"Within his first week in Lecce, Bruno booked a slot at the Agenzia delle Entrate to get a codice fiscale, then logged into the same portal a few months later to register his new rental contract online."
Common confusion
There\'s also Agenzia delle Entrate-Riscossione, which is the separate arm that chases unpaid taxes and fines. Don\'t confuse the two if you get a letter.
