It's a part-time employment contract with fewer hours than the full-time level set by the CCNL. The contract spells out exactly how many hours and how they're distributed across the week.
Your CCNL protections (TFR, holidays, sick pay, INPS contributions) still apply, scaled to your hours. Banks and immigration offices look at your gross yearly income, so part-time can affect things like family reunification income tests.
"To balance her PhD studies in Urbino with rent, Anika worked a 20-hour part-time at a bookshop. Her CCNL gave her proportional holidays and TFR for the hours worked."
Sudden, repeated requests for extra hours that aren't in the contract should be put in writing. Otherwise you risk doing full-time hours on part-time pay.
