It's when an employee resigns from their job. Since 2016, dimissioni must be submitted online through a special Ministry of Labour portal, not just on paper. The platform generates a numbered receipt that you give to your employer.
Why it matters
Without the online form, resignations are not legally valid. This protects against forced or fake signed resignations and gives you a clear record of when and how you left.

"After accepting a new offer in Treviglio, Olamide logged into the cliclavoro portal with SPID, submitted his dimissioni, and emailed his manager the PDF receipt the same evening."
Common confusion
Notice periods are set by the CCNL and your contract level, not by what you and your boss verbally agree. Leaving without proper notice can cost you a chunk of your last pay.
