Statement of Value (foreign qualifications)
Plain English
It's a statement issued by Italian diplomatic missions abroad that describes a foreign qualification in Italian, including its level, the issuing institution, and the duration of the program. It\'s a formal companion to the diploma itself.
Why it matters
Universities and ministries used to ask for it as standard for foreign degrees. Today, many accept the CIMEA attestation instead, but the dichiarazione di valore is still required for some specific procedures and regulated professions.
Real example
"Before submitting her teacher-recognition file in Caltagirone, Magdalena ordered a dichiarazione di valore from the Italian consulate in Krakow for her Polish education degree."
Common confusion
Check whether the receiving institution accepts a CIMEA attestation instead. The CIMEA route is usually faster and cheaper if it\'s acceptable.
