Gross Annual Salary

It's the gross annual salary, including base pay and any 13th or 14th month bonuses spread across the year. Italian job offers are usually quoted as RAL.
Why it matters
RAL is the starting point for calculating your net monthly pay, your tax bracket, and your pension and severance accrual. Always check whether an offer is RAL or net.
Real example
"During her negotiation in Lucera, Stamatia asked for the RAL in writing and used an online calculator to estimate her monthly netto across 13 paychecks."
Common confusion
RAL doesn\'t include the employer\'s social-security cost on top, which can be roughly another 30%. The cost-to-employer is much higher than the RAL number suggests.
