It's a CIMEA-issued document that confirms a foreign degree was really issued by a recognised institution. Universities and employers ask for it when they want extra assurance that the diploma is genuine. It's different from the comparability attestation.
Some scholarships, university programs, and employers require it on top of the comparability statement. It's mainly an anti-fraud check on the authenticity of the document.
"Before her PhD interview in Urbino, Olha asked CIMEA for the attestato di verifica for her Ukrainian master's. CIMEA contacted her former university directly to verify the document before issuing the statement."
Verification confirms the diploma is real. Comparability says what level it corresponds to in Italy. You may need one, the other, or both depending on what you're applying for.
