It's the standard Schengen short-stay visa for tourism: holidays, sightseeing, or visiting friends or family in Italy for up to 90 days in 180. You can\'t work or study long-term on this visa.
Why it matters
It\'s the most common visa requested at Italian consulates. The consulate looks closely at travel itinerary, accommodation, and return tickets to assess the trip.
Common confusion
A tourist visa doesn\'t let you start work, school, or a long-term move once in Italy. For those, you need a National Visa matching the right purpose.
