A2 Italian Language Test (long-term permit)
Plain English
It's the A2-level Italian test required for the EU long-term residence permit. It checks basic communication skills: introducing yourself, asking for things, handling simple everyday situations.
Why it matters
Without an accepted A2 certificate or a passed test, the Questura won\'t issue the long-term EU permit. CPIA-issued CIL A2 certificates are the most common free option.
Real example
"After his free A2 course at the CPIA in Belluno, Bao took the test and passed. The certificate went straight into his application for the EU long-term permit."
Common confusion
Some exemptions apply (for example, certain school diplomas obtained in Italy). Check the official list before booking a test you may not need.
