Investor Visa (Golden Visa)

It's the so-called Italian Golden Visa, a National Visa for non-EU citizens who make a qualifying investment in Italy. Eligible investments include government bonds, equity in Italian companies, philanthropic donations, or innovative startups.
Why it matters
It offers a relatively predictable path to Italian residence outside the quota system, in exchange for committing a defined amount of capital. The minimum thresholds depend on the type of investment.
Common confusion
The investment must actually be made within a set period after the visa is issued. Failing to deploy the capital can cost the visa and the related residence permit.
