Dual Citizenship

It's the situation of holding two nationalities at the same time. Italy accepts dual citizenship in most cases. Whether your other country allows it is a separate question and depends on that country\'s laws.
Why it matters
Dual citizens get all the rights of both countries: two passports, two voting rights, and full freedom of movement in their EU country plus their other home. The flip side is sometimes military or tax obligations on the other side.
Real example
"When Lalisa was granted Italian citizenship in Olbia, she kept her Thai citizenship as well. She now travels on her Italian passport inside the EU and uses her Thai passport back home."
Common confusion
Italy doesn\'t require you to give up your previous citizenship. But your country of origin might. Check both sides before celebrating.
